Winchester Area Temporary Transitional Shelter (WATTS) awarded Love to NIC with Nonprofit of the year award!
Executive director, Holly Roberts, is spreading the word of Love to NIC. Recently, Holly was the recipient of the Good Samaritan Award presented by the Awards Committee of the Virginia, Maryland & Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives
The Good Samaritan Award is intended to honor individuals who have provided exceptional service to others, either within the context of their chosen profession or as a passion they have chosen to pursue, and while they may have already been recognized, their service constitutes a body of good works so extraordinary, so selfless and so life-changing to those whom it has touched that it is worthy of applause, recognition, and being held up to others as a “gold standard” example of philanthropic community service. This award is open to all individuals who have provided such service to communities in Virginia, Maryland or Delaware. Additionally, nominations for this award will be sought on an annual basis by the Awards Committee of the Virginia, Maryland & Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives, but this award will not necessarily be given out on an annual basis, but rather will only be presented to individuals who, in the committee’s view, fully embody the principles, purposes and service expectations outlined above.
Executive director, Holly Roberts, was named a Heroine at this year’s March of Dimes Heroines of Washington Awards!
These prestigious awards acknowledge women in the DMV region who excel professionally while simultaneously devoting their time to impactful volunteer work. There is only one winner per category, and our very own Holly Roberts is the 2023 Heroine in the Public Sector category.
We are so proud of the phenomenal work that Holly produces daily for our organization. We admire her as a leader and are grateful that her profound dedication to community service has been recognized.
Congratulations on this well-deserved honor, Holly!
